I read through the recipe before cooking or baking to check whether I have all of the ingredients and make sure have enough time before starting with a recipe.

I read through a recipe first checking to make sure I have all that’s needed and if there is something listed that is an allergy for someone ( we cook for 6 to 12 people at any given time), I will look for a substitute with a similar flavor profile. Sometimes that change can be a better option than the original.

I do read through the whole recipe first to see if I have all the ingredients and equipment needed. Sometimes I compare it to a few other recipies to see what else might work with the dish or what certain herbs that I don’t have can be substituted with.
I read the recipes first to see if I will be able to make it and if I have all the ingredients or substitutes. Sometimes to me a recipe is just a guideline to something greater!

I read the recipe first, to see what I would need and if I would like it and how long it will take to prepare. Then I decide weather I am making it or not.
I always read through the recipe in its entirety to find out what techniques, ingredients, time and equipment are required
