I started with Eucalyptus, Peppermint, Willow and Rosemary because of the pain salve I make. Later added Comfrey, Calendula and Plantain for a wound salve.

I am going to write out my starter encyclopedia with 101 most useful and choose 5 to 10 based on ailments that are already an issue with family and friends, and not the most exciting but several herbs that I have already available.

I chose 5 herbs to start with: Cayenne (Capsicum annuum), Echinacea (Echinacea purpurea) – I’ve always bee very drawn to these two herbs – Ginger (Zingiber officinale), Peppermint (Mentha piperita) – I chose these two because I have a lot of GI issues and they both help tremendously – and St. John’s Wort (Hypericum perforatum) because my husband has a lot of anxiety and he takes this herb as supplement to help.

    HI

I choose Symphytum officinale [Comfrey] and Zingiber officinale [Ginger] for medicine and Ruta graveolens [Rue] for mystery. The latter is used in my family.
