    1. 1 reading up on herbs and remedies and doing research. 6 Is also very important, mother’s milk actually already have a “pharmacy” inside it to assist a babies health and growth.

    2. 8 Using your common sense is actually less common for some people than others. I don’t mean it in a disrespectful way, but some people will not think something through enough and then others will over think

I feel that all safety precautions are of equal concern. Never on Sunday is a new one for me. It will be easier to use this rule than trying to keep track of the weeks on and off of longer term use.

Number 6 stood out the most as I was not aware that children under 2 are not allowed to use herbs.

    1. I think that the most important rule about using herbs for medicinal purposes is to “read up”. If a person truly does their homework and studies the herbs they are taking before using them then they should find out on their own what the other nine rules are just through research, tips, and learning about the world of herbs!

    2. If we are being honest none of them surprised me. But it is becuase I remember who I was at the beginning of my journey and who I am now and I likely would have made several if not all of those mistakes had I not chosen to read up on it!

The funny thing is I only aspired to learn about a few herbs I could use in my skincare line to keep people’s skin feeling healthy and radiant and now I am on the clinical path reading anything I can and taking classes when I can hahaha. I am in a botanical skincare course right now learning about skin health and what contributes and how to discern between herbs to use for which purposes and I love it!

    1. In my opinion, adhering to all the guiding rules or commandments is very important. Common sense will help to take caution on all the rules especially concerning pregnant Women and children under the age of 2 years.

    2. Taking precautions in giving herbs to older citizens like age 65 and above surprises me. It is good to know that they become more sensitive to drugs and it may cause reactions in them. So they need lower dosage which can be increased with time if need be.

Taking a break is as good as using the herb. Not surprised by anything as comon sence is the logic way. If not sure, do not use or get alternative advice from someome more experienced than you. Keeping to the dosage may take longer to get desired result, but there is a reason for doing so, so dont follow your own train of thought. It will come back to bite you.

    3. Stick with the recommended dose and never exceed it. Lavender pumped through the air conditioner in a hospital reduced the reliance on sleeping medication. The same procedure upped the dose of lavender. Lavender used in small amounts apparently relaxes but in large doses it has the opposite effect.
Surprised at number 6 – don’t give herbal medication to under two year olds. Interesting but not surprising that the dosage is lowered with geriatrics

    Rule number 1 and 3.
I was not aware that you need to take a break , but it’s good advise – perhaps to alternate between herbs. As my interest is to make Herbal tea, it makes sense to alternate between herbs. I will also be sure to check if my family and friends have any allergies, before serving them the Herbal tea’s.

Well i think having common sense is always at the top of my list, common sense is the thing that will tell us to read up more about a herb, it would tell us to respect our individuality, it would tell us to be cautious if we are pregnant so to me common sense is definitely the most important.
Sticking to recommended doses comes as a surprise to me because of the fact that everyone is different, not only will the herb vary for use by an individual so will the doses. An older person with a gastric ulcer cannot take the same doses as a recommended dose for your average individual. The dosage will also increase slightly above the recommended dose if the person is over weight. A recommended dosage is a guideline and you need to take into account the actual individual.
