Detox Protocol Planning
It’s usually easier to start with the shorter protocols and then move on to the more intense. I’ve given you four examples below. They are not cast in stone. Adapt them to your needs.
1. Decide On Your Goals
These will depend on your detoxification and health goals. The important thing is to be clear about what you are trying to achieve with a therapeutic fasting protocol.
2. Decide On Your Time Frame
In general, when cleansing always aim to follow the protocol for at least seven days before returning to your normal eating pattern. Then increase the duration. You can follow any of the first three protocols – or a combination of them – for an unlimited time.
3. Decide The Intensity Of Your Detox
You can follow any of the first three protocols to the letter, or you can mix and match. For example, I favour a 5-2 protocol. I only eat one meal a day (dinner) for 5 days and then I follow that with a weekend of 3 daily meals.
4. Decide The Frequency of Your Detox
How often will you detox? Once a year, once every three months? Once a month? Or will you follow your own personal protocol indefinitely as I do? Adjusting it to your schedule and needs.
