There have been a few times I’ve either added too much, and it was difficult to correct, or not enough (or putting it in too early in the cooking process) and having it turn out bland. As much as I like variety, I actually find myself with favorites that I use over and over, perhaps getting into a rut?

I am not the one causing disasters when cooking, but my boyfriend often does silly things like throw so much chilli spice in the food that it is inedible! Hahaha!

My main issue would be to put spices in too early to a dish and cook the flavor out of them

In the past, I have used the wrong combinations as I just looked at the color of the herbs and didnt have much knowledge of the taste and uses of each one, and I got a not-so-nice surprise when I tasted the food 🙂

I have been struggling with measurements, sometimes I would put way too much other times I cannot taste the herbs at all. The measurements you shared appreciated and I will be trying that.

Also learnt about parsley when I started the modules and have now been adding it towards the end of cooking.

I, just like Anton, tend to use my herbs in the beginning of my cooking not knowing that it loses it’s flavour when cooked for long periods.

I actually cook by smell, so I am really good at combining herbs and spices and always have been… I don’t mean to act like I know everything because I certainly don’t but I have no fear and I am a natural when it comes to cooking. I just hate the clean up haha.

Mine is Poor Team Management; by this I mean I always use much spices that ruins my dishes and normally add my Parsley too early to my Dish instead of adding it when I am about to put the Dish off the Stove. But that stops henceforth. Thanks for this Course.

Using the wrong combination hed a few dishes turned out to be a disaster tasting horible or not tasting like I thought it would. Sometimes I made the mistake of not using enough and then trying to rectify it afterwards. Some ideas worked, and some well……

We like our food with just a little bit of salt in it.
When I cook for friends and family, I forget to put more salt in the food. Luckily I can always add if necessary.

Thyme can not be used in every dish. You can really spoil a dish if you add a handfull of thyme
Stick to the spoon it works better.

I’m a great cook, so ive never really had disasters. I can usually determine by smell if combos of different herbs will taste good. I rarely underseason.

Ps- sauces can be saved of too much salt by cutting a raw potato in half and putting it in the sauce for a bit. The potato soaks up salt.
