Traditional Medicinal Uses of Berula erecta
Indications: Administered to people only.
Eco-Gardening
Berula erecta is a member of the carrot family. It is a hairless, medium to tall, stoloniferous, semi-aquatic plant to 1 metre, but often rather sprawling. It occurs as a submerged aquatic in rivers and streams, and as an emergent species at the edges of lakes, ponds, rivers, and in marshes. It is also found on seasonally-flooded wet ground, and usually roots into fine silt or mud. Stem hollow and lined. The plant produces many small white flowers in a compound umbel.Due to its habitat requirements, Berula erecta is only suitable for larger developments and can actually become an invader under certain circumstances. Plant it in an area where it is self-contained. (Wildflower Nursery)
