Traditional Medicinal Uses of Melianthus major
Indications: Administered to people only. Caution: Harmful to people or animals.
Melianthus major has large grey leaves and huge bronze flowers that make this a striking shrub. On a sunny day, the sunbirds feast on the nectar dripping from the flowers.
Melianthus major is grown worldwide for its attractive foliage. Although a winter grower, it is evergreen. It prefers a warm, sunny position with good drainage. Melianthus grows fast and will make a show within a few months. It is particularly attractive in spring when in flower and sporting its new lush leaf growth. (Credit: Wildflower Nursery)
